Each property in Birmingham sits within a different Council Tax band. The amount of Council Tax you have to pay on your property will depend on which band you are in.

The Council Tax band for your property will be shown on your bill. You can also use the on GOV.UK to find out which band your property is in.
My property is in the wrong Council Tax band
If you think that your property is in the wrong Council Tax band, you may be able to challenge the decision with the Valuation Office Agency. You can on GOV.UK.
Bands and charges for Council Tax in Birmingham
The following details show the Council Tax bands and charges for the financial year 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
City Council bands and charges
The following figures also include a 2% precept, which we use to help fund our adult social care services. This precept is shown separately on your Council Tax bill.
